Pest of the Month
December - German Cockroach
German roaches prefer warmer temperatures and tend to stay close to their food and water sources. When selecting application sites, a general rule of thumb to observe is to use less bait in more places. Apply a small, pea-sized amount of bait as a dot more frequently—think hundreds of places rather than dozens. This dot application method allows more roaches to feed simultaneously and for the bait to retain moisture longer. When selecting baits, be sure that you are rotating formulas and active ingredients. For instance, if you’re baiting with Magnetic Roach Bait™, you can rotate with Dual Strike® (available January 2025) to take advantage of the different bait matrices. While MRB and Dual Strike both contain boric acid, the fipronil kicker in Dual Strike makes it an effective bait to include in a rotation program.
